Through Sun & Co., Rich Sun invests in, manages and advises startup and early stage companies. He is experienced in a wide range of industries in the US, international & emerging markets. Many of his transactions were "first of a kind," "largest" or "fastest." He is noted for unusual levels of creativity, intelligence and tenacity.

Rich has made 13 private equity investments through Sun & Co. and for his own account.  Eleven investments are currently in the portfolio.   At a prior firm, Rich led four institutional private equity investments aggregating $230 million in Asia and Africa.  He played a key role in the creation of nine other companies.

He was named "Angel Investor of the Year" for 2006 by New Vantage Active Angel Investors.

One of his current investments, TerraCycle, was named the "Coolest Little Startup in America" and its CEO the "Top Entrepreneur under 30" by Inc. magazine.  Rich is on the Board of Directors. 

Rich is highly creative and experienced both in conceptualization (analysis, strategy and planning) and in implementation (deal/project management, fund raising, negotiation and documentation).

As an investment banker with CreditSuisse, Goldman Sachs and UBS, Rich originated, structured, placed and closed over 70 deals valued at over $4 billion. He originated and led over 30 advisory assignments valued at over $7 billion.
